In the world of coffee, time has certainly not been standing still. The following upbeat beverages have emerged from creative minds in the past decades to set the standards of today.

 Specialities rightAmaretto Coffee Mix
- Ingredients: 1 cup espresso coffee; 1 glass milk with a teaspoon of powdered cocoa; 1 teaspoon sugar; crushed ice; 2 amaretti (Italian macaroons).
- Preparation: Mix the coffee, milk, amaretti, cocoa, sugar and crushed ice. Serve immediately in a large glass with a straw. 

Almond Coffee
- Ingredients: 1 teaspoon cane sugar; 2 tablespoons amaretto; 125 ml hot, freshly made espresso coffee; whipped cream; 1 teaspoon toasted almond slivers.
- Preparation: Put the sugar in a heatproof glass and add the amaretto. Pour the coffee into the glass. Serve with a blob of cream, sprinkled with almond slivers.

Café d'Amour
- Ingredients: 1 small cup strong espresso; 1 pinch cocoa; 1 pinch cinnamon; 2 cl Cointreau; 1 stick cinnamon.
- Preparation: Three-quarters fill a preheated cup with coffee. Add the cocoa and cinnamon. Fill with 2 cl Cointreau. Place a stick of cinnamon into the cup for stirring.

Café Royal
- Ingredients: 1-cup espresso; 2 teaspoons sugar; 4 cl cognac; soft whipped cream.
- Preparation: Pour the warm coffee into a macchiato glass. Stir in the sugar. Add the cognac and top with a spoonful of soft whipped cream.

Coffee Balalaika
- Ingredients: Hot, strong, espresso coffee; 2 tablespoons brown sugar; hot water; 2 tablespoons vodka; whipped cream.
- Preparation: Put the brown sugar into a glass rinsed with hot water. Add the vodka and fill the glass with hot, strong, black coffee. Hold a small tablespoon upside down above the glass and slowly pour whipped, but not completely stiff, unsweetened cream onto the coffee. The cream should float on the coffee. Serve immediately.
